Charity Shop Clothes Haul

Over the last 12 months I have, like many other people, have discovered the beauty of buying second-hand clothes in charity shops. As it it becomes more apparent every day that we all need to do to our bit to prevent the devastating effects that climate change is leaving on our planet, choosing pre-loved clothes over mass-produced garments from fast fashion global companies wherever we can is one of the most simple ways that we can make our lifestyles more sustainable.

This week I popped into my local Salvation Army charity shop, and came out with five gorgeous new buys for less than a tenner altogether. Here’s what I’m adding to my wardrobe for the A/W 2021 season.

  1. I have had my eye out for a new pair of smart black shoes for work for a while now, so I was over the moon to see that these gorgeous loafers were in my size. I love the gold buckle detail on them and I think they will look perfect with a crisp shirt and a smart pair of pants when I’m in the office.

2. On the subject of pants, I really liked these black culottes as they are so loose flowing and comfortable, that they literally feel like pyjama bottoms, yet they still look so chic! I do apologise for the poor quality of the photo but I feel that they are very versatile, in the sense that they can be dressed up or down, so I’m sure that they will make plenty of appearances on my Instagram page.

3. You might have guessed that I was mainly looking for workwear when I was shopping (probably because I feel I spend more time at work than I do anywhere else!) as here is is another item of clothes that my work colleagues can definitely expect to see me wearing a lot. This checked skirt is the perfect length for work and the quality feels amazing. I feel so mature and sophisticated wearing it.

4. As well as needing more workwear, I also want to add more casual skirts to my wardrobe as hopefully the pubs, bars and nightclubs stay open this time, so we can all enjoy more nights out this winter. I really love the colour of this faux leather skirt and it’s not skin tight so I can feel glamourous but can still be able to have something to eat without feeling bloated.

5. My favourite new buy was this blue linen blouse. I love it as it has a vintage feel, but the gorgeous pastel colour makes it look very on trend. I think it would look very chic paired with a nice skirt, but also very cool if it was unbuttoned and layered on top of a cami vest top. Perfect for chilled August bank holiday plans!
